“Knowledge cannot be stolen by thieves, nor appropriated by governments as tax; it is not subject to division of inheritance by family members, nor does it weigh heavily on the mind of one who has earned this. As this knowledge is spent by sharing it with others; far from experiencing any reduction or diminution of this knowledge; it goes on increasing and that is why; this type of knowledge is considered as the Supreme Wealth.”
The Late Bhai Kishinchand Chellaram founded the ‘Kishinchand Chellaram Educational Trust’ in 1948 with the noble objective of supporting and assisting various educational institutions.
The Trust’s logo embodies its strong belief that one who has no education lives in darkness. The Trust aims to assist those who cannot afford to fund their education. Thus the baseline “Lead me from darkness to light”. The green color of the logo symbolizes prosperity, which can only come from education.
The Trust provides direct scholarships to deserving students to help them complete their education and pursue higher studies for the fulfillment of their ambitions. To further this cause through this Trust, various educational institutions have been set up, including the following well recognized ones:
♦ Kishinchand Chellaram College of Arts, Science and Commerce.
♦ Kishinchand Chellaram College of Law.
♦ Kishinchand Chellaram Computer Centre at ADAPT, Mumbai.
♦ Sri. Lokumal Kishinchand Chellaram Computer Centre at Vishwa Santhi Vidyalaya, Kotagiri.
