EDUCATION

•  Right from the inception of Viswa Santhi Vidyalaya (a school for poor children of the hilly areas of Kotagiri in Coimbatore), Kishinchand Chellaram Educational Trust has been a patron for developing and enhancing the facilities of the school such as – construction of additional Classrooms, a separate block for Library and Laboratory, a fully equipped Computer Centre, Roofing of the Terrace, and recently a scholarship award for the top 3 rankers in the 10th Standard.

•  Today Viswa Santhi Vidyalaya, with its high standard of teaching, infrastructure and excellent Management, is one of the most coveted schools in the district.

•  Shri Shri Ma Anandmayee Upvan Shiksha Samiti desired to establish a School for poor children in 1998 with an aim to provide free education to the children coming from deprived families who lived in Juggi Zopdis (hutments)

•  Kishinchand Chellaram Educational Trust sponsored the construction of the School building, with adequate facilities — such as decent classrooms, toilet blocks, and rooms for laboratory and library.

•Today the School caters to almost 700 students and is in the process of getting upgraded to the Matriculation Level.

•Adarsh Chaatra Shaala is a school started by Chellaram Charities at Vedchhi Pradesh Seva Samiti, Dharampur.

• Poor children from the rural areas in the vicinity of Dharampur avail educational facilities from this institute.

•The school was established in the year 2004.

•Entire running of the school along with the Boarding and Hostel charges is taken care of by Chellaram Charities.

•Recently four extra classrooms were constructed in order to accommodate more number of children and meet the Government’s norms to start further higher classes.

SAS (Satya Anuragi Sansthan) Academic Society at Gangori, Uttarkashi was founded by Swami Shukdevanand Giri in 1998, to impart formal education to the Pahadi Children (children from the hills) who were otherwise deprived of their basic right to education.

Later in August 2012, when calamity struck Uttarakhand, in the form of cloud bursts and floods, SAS School was also a victim. The entire school got washed away due to its proximity to the river Ganges.

However, this did not dampen the spirit of Swami Shukdevanand Giri who aggressively started looking for a suitable piece of land to reconstruct the school. In the meantime the school was run through a makeshift arrangement – a guest house – hired on rental basis.

After purchasing a suitable piece of land, the biggest challenge before Swamiji was the construction of the school. Swamiji wanted to construct a school with a strong structure and appropriate facilities, but did not have enough funds. This is when Kishinchand Chellaram Educational Trust extended its helping hand and agreed to sponsor the construction.

As on date, the construction is in full swing and the school is scheduled to be functional before April’2017.
