HIV has become a Pandemic disease in the developing countries.
Everyday the number is increasing. Still people in the rural areas are unaware of these facts and figures and are also unaware of their own HIV status. This leads to the progression and spread of the disease involving complications and opportunistic infections.
The same is the situation among the tribal people at the Tansa Valley.
The FHC at Prasad Chikitsa (an NGO working at Ganeshpuri) tries to solve these problems by acting as a Voluntary Counseling and Testing Centre (VCTC) as well as a day care hospital.
Chellaram Charities understood the need of the hour and donated an Elisa machine necessary for Screening of HIV patients. Thus the HIV screening program at Ganeshpuri started.
Till date thousands of patients have been benefited by this machine.
The other equipments sponsored for the program include: Washer machine and the Bio-Chemistry Analyzer.
