Inspired by Maa Anandamayee’s principle – “Daridra Narayan Seva” (service to poor is service to god) – Shri Shri Maa Anandamayee Upvan Shiksha Samiti was formed in 1998 to impart education to children of rag-pickers and daily wage labourers living in slums of Bairagarh district in Bhopal.
In the initial days, due the lack of infrastructure, the school operated through a small dingy classroom and had just 7 students.
Kishinchand Chellaram Educational Trust helped the school have a proper building with 12 spacious classrooms, a laboratory and a computer centre.
Today the school has received recognition till Matriculation level and caters to 475 students from the deprived communities.
